Can I take legal action against a website that stole my information and sold it?

The other day I was looking at payday loan sites (yes I know terrible idea) and I found one that interested me. I filled out the information they asked for (including my SSN and bank account number) and after I submitted it they immediately told me I didnt qualify. Right after that my inbox got flooded with spam. I get about 300 spam emails a day now. I also keep getting phone calls and texts that are just spam. Somebody also tried to access my bank account but the bank stopped them. I confronted the website via online live chat (their phones “are not currently working”) and they swear up and down they dont spam and that its not from them. It has to be though because I never got spam before that and a majority of the spam was for payday loans. I want to know if there is some kind of legal action I can take against this site. They stole it because it was a loan application. They sold it to a bunch of spam sites so yes, I would consider that stealing. Seeing as they do not provide loans and just spam you, I would consider that stealing.

Ok, I applied for a few payday loans awhile back, but never actually got one. I never signed any agreement or whatever. Today I get 12 messages on my answeing maching from some guy in california (i live in vermont). He told me that I now have a lawsuit against me because I took out a payday loan, and never paid it, but i never had a payday loan!! Then he said I am going to be supenad (sp?) into court, a court in california, and if i dont show up i will be arrested. I dont get it? A “law office” contacted me about a payday loan (that I forgot about). They said they are with Mark Goldberg?

They said the outstanding loan was sold to a broker because it was an unpaid debt. It is for $300.00. I am willing to pay it but, I am hesitant because they are asking me to deposit the money into the law offices account via Bank of america. The gentleman sent me a letter of agreement via email. what can I do about unauthorized checking account with drawls form unknown businesses?

I had to get me a payday loan over the internet.Everything seemed fine and I got the loan,but 2 days after the loan money was deposited in my account,”companies” , I don’t even know, started to with draw money, for different things, out of my bank account without my knowledge. At first I thought it was just a mix up in the account number or something like that, but it happen 3 times, always a different company. I need to know if a payday loan company can legally charge 125% interest without telling you in the agreement?

I borrowed $ 200 from an online lender and the agreement said my total repayment would be $260.

My friend has fallen on hard times and needs a job. He has great qualification and has been offered a GM position at a payday loan company. He doesn’t like it too much ethically but he can stand it for a year or so.

Business is booming at these places as you can imagine and he will be very well trained. Plus, his store will be located in a higher income area so many of the customers will be using western union, small business owners needing to cash a check fast, and things like that.

Will working as a branch manager look bad to future employers? I know that many think it’s predatory lending but he doesn’t set the prices, he just works there. Will this screw him in the end?

How do I get in touch with this payday loan lender who keeps stealing from me?

About a month ago I applied for a payday loan from one company online. Several companies contacted me, and one actually deposited money into my account without me knowing it. I didn’t know who did it or how it even got there until 2 weeks later they sent an email and hit me with a $90 finance charge and I could see a name. I’ve called and left them messages, emailed, faxed, and even contacted the BBB with no luck getting in touch with them to plead my case. How can I get this resolved? Friday is payday and they sent me another email saying I owe another $90 to them in finance charges! This is going to put the total over $270 just in fees!! Should I just close my checking account? Contact the bank? I literally have NOWHERE to turn at this point…. The name of the company is Shoreline Online LLC,/ CWB Services. I can’t find any direct contact information for them. I need to get out of this by Friday! And if I withdraw all my money and put it in another account, wont that be an NSF on my current account then? Should I only do that if my current bank wont work with me?

I have about $2,500 in debt. about $1,400 of that is to payday loan stores which are charging me through the nose in interest. I’m paying around $500 a month in interest. I could probably pay everything off and be debt free in 6-8 months if I could just get a reasonable interest rate. The problem is that my credit sucks and I don’t own anything that could be used as collateral. Are there any banks or other lenders who might give me a loan at a rate less than 100% apr?

Do you have any other suggestions to get out this mess?

Payday Loan would not accept check?

My bank changed hands recently and everybody was sent new credit/debit cards. We were told to continue using our old checks as usual. I had a payday loan out w/Advance America and was told by the store that they could not accept my checks anymore due to the bank changing hands. The store manager asked me to bring back counter checks or some other check that had the new banks name on it. The branch Mgr clld the store and was given the same run around w/no explaniations or name of the person Advance spoke w/at the bank. Has anyone else gone through this w/Advance America?
Keep in mind we were advised to continue using out old checks, the bank is not issueing new checks! So taking the money out and paying it off is not answering my questions. As asked please let me know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks!

Payday interest too much….?

I had to take out $2500 in payday loans to pay some emergency medical bills. The interest alone is going to cost me $550 each pay period (twice a month). I know all of the horror stories of taking these out, but I had no one else to get a loan from. I looked up several companies that say they can negotiate with the payday loan lenders, just like when you consolidate credit cards. I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of or knew anyone that had done business with PDL Assistance or Langhorne Debt Solutions. PDL Assistance told me that I could have these paid off in 10 months with a $230/month payment. They will email me the contract and I have to send them the form back that authorizes them to talk to my 3 lenders to negotiate the loans. They will also send me a form to take to my bank that will stop the 3 lenders from withdrawing any further debits from my account. They did not tell me to close my account. Any suggestions?

Let me express something. I have no family, part of my debt comes from the house that was forclosed on when I had my stroke, and I loss everything in it, and the payday loan thing. With that said, it is not that I run up debt, I live in a cheap 1 bedroom so my girls could go to that school, and yes I will take a semester off if I have to. I received a letter from the prosecuting attorney, a 10 day notice that criminal charges will be filed against me unless I pay this debt by the 17th of December.This couldn’t have come at a worse time. Can I be held responsible for a payday loan I never signed for?

My information was apparently given out when I was on a web site which said it would match me with a lender. A company called Ace Cash Services deposited 300 in our account without us ever asking them for a loan or signing anything. They now say I owe them 510! I am searching for all of those alleged high risk lenders that are willing to lend money for those with credit scores in the low 500′s. I am not interested in payday advances. My wife took a $10,000 a year net pay cut this year and we are struggling to keep it together. We had a little girl last year and my wife was out for 7 months. We are still paying off medical bills.
We have consolidated all of our debt and credit cards and cut them up. I am so through with CC. We are too comfortable using them. We restructured our finances and eliminated the fluff. I will thank those in advance who will say…live simply and things will get better…I work 60+ hours a day and between the two of us we bring home more than 7.5 K monthly…the payday loans will not let us get back on track. I have a friend whose girlfriend just cleaned out her entire bank account while she was on a Greyhound from Mississippi to Georgia. My friend is now stranded in Georgia on the with nowhere to stay and maybe $5-10 to her name. I am trying to get her to Colorado so she can stay with me, but she is only 19 and no one will give her a loan because she’s so young and her current account has only been open for 3 weeks (they require 30 days). She has been working for years now and had a LOAD of money in the bank that this girl stole, and all her money was in this one account. She is technically unemployed since she quit her job prior to leaving Mississipi, but she still has another check coming and is waiting to get her money back from the stolen card.

The problem is, she’s on the street and doesn’t have time to wait. I don’t have the money for her Greyhound, I’d have to pawn everything I own that’s of value, which isn’t much. Is there a safe, online payday loan that she could apply for? Please, none of the “payday loans are a vicious cycle, there are other ways” stuff. Her bank only has branches in Mississippi and we’ve tried EVERYTHING else we can think of. I’ve called all over town in Georgia and NO ONE will give her a loan because of her age/the account not being open long enough/being unemployed. She’s not a deadbeat, she’s a hard worker and she had plenty of money, she just got screwed and is in a dire predicament because of a mean, nasty person. If anyone has ANY suggestions, please share.
