Sharon asks…

What’s a good website to get a safe and secure payday loan?

AND NOT A SCAM???

Loans Guide answers:

Safe payday loan is an oxymoron. Safe website for a loan is also an oxymoron.

James asks…

Can I get a loan with bad credit? NO PAYDAY LOANS! I need a gauranteed loan. $10,000.?

I can’t get a loan from anyone because I have bad credit..made a few bad choices in the past, and still getting penalized. I need a second chance. Please no Scams

Loans Guide answers:

If you have some collateral or a co-signer possibly. Without such things probably not.

Betty asks…

I want to find how to contact Total Lending Payday Loan, either an e-mail address or 800 #.?

I have a payday loan I want to pay off with this company and I can’t find the address for them and they just keep taking money from my checking acct. every 2 weeks and don’t e-mail or call me to make arrangements for a pay-down or pay-off, which I know is a scam and that is why I want to get them paid off and their hands out of my money!!! Thanks for any info anyone has on this company. I expect there is at least one more “name” this company hides under so it is hard for someone like myself to find them on a web site, so if anyone knows other names please let me know, I REALLY want to get this issue resolved quickly!!!! Thanks, VIcki Dugger

Loans Guide answers:

I am in the same prediciment as you. I also have a loan with this company. But, I might be able to help. This morning I found what I believe is their fax#. I had the name Elisa written next to it and I do remember she is the person who helped me with my loan. So, you can try faxing them a note at this number and telling them you want to pay off your loan or ask them to contact you. I hope this helps. When taking out these pay day loans it is best to keep the paper work you sign and fax to them because it usually has the phone number on it. I accidentally lost my paper work but I did at least have this fax number written down. 1-866-379-7667

UPDATE: Let me say this, the company is not doing anything illegal. When you took out a loan with them you agreed to pay a “finance charge” until your loan was paid off. I had to sign a contract which I printed from their web site and faxed back to them and I’m sure you probably had to do this too – it’s a legal procedure.

The finance charge is based on the amount of money you borrowed. Example: If you borrowed $200 then they will take out a $60 finance charge on the dates you pre-arranged with them in your contract (usually your work pay dates) until the debt is paid off. Some pay day loan companies will automatically start paying down your loan after you have been charged a finance fee 4 times. Then most of them will start taking out $50 increments plus the finance charge until the loan is paid off. Total Lending does not do this automatically – you have to contact them and let them know that you either want to pay the loan off completely or pay it down in crements of however much you choose.

A word of caution when dealing with pay day loan companies – they are a rip off in that they charge outrageous finance fees for their loans. Most people end up paying way more for the loan than they actually borrowed. Personally, I got in a situation where I had no choice and had no where else to turn for money – this was my own fault. I am working on straightening out my finances right now and as soon as I have paid mine off, never again will I take out another one of these loans because they are so expensive to pay off.

I would not advise asking the bank to “reverse charges.” Not only will you have to pay your bank a fee but Total Lending may also charge you a “returned check fee” as well which will just end up being more money out of your pocket. They can do this because it is in the contract you signed.

I would try the above fax# to contact them before I did this. This is what I plan to do. JMO.

Charles asks…

Loans Guide answers:

How my mom got scammed.

Someone called her out of the blue telling her she owed money on an old debt.
They told her that if she paid today, they would settle for only half.
My mom quickly grabbed her wallet and gave them her Discover Card number.
My mom never checked her credit reports to see if this was a legitimate debt.
The scammers got $400.
Months later, I told her to get her reports because this was probably a scam – she never knew.
By then, Discover could not do a thing about it…

Now, have you ever visited pay day loan sites?
Sometimes they grab your information and charge you the application and processing fee without you really knowing. At least 2 times on here I have heard of that happening.
Have you ever visited any loan sites???

Richard asks…

cash advance/payday loan that gives extended time to pay back?

I’m having surgery and I need to borrow 1000-1500 and I have no credit so pretty much my only option is to get a cash advance or payday loan (unless anyone has other suggestions) b/c the money is due in 4 days. I’ve been hearing bad things about them and being scams but I have no idea how else to get the money so quickly (don’t have anyone who can lend me it). And I can’t go to a normal payday loan site b/c I can’t pay it back in one paycheck, I’m 19 so I don’t make that much money. Anyone know any good suggestions or sites that allow a reasonable amount of time to pay it back? Thanks :)

Loans Guide answers:

No one does that, nor will you get that much cash from a payday loan. The fees alone would kill you.

Your Questions About Payday Loan Lenders Only

George asks…

Can payday lender really do this?

I took out a loan from one click cash for 250 dollars last year to help with an unexpected vet. bill when my dog got sick. I paid the ENTIRE loan including fees, and interest back when the debited my account for six weeks like they were suppose to. Two months later they started debiting my account again. I contacted them numerous times, and never could get anywhere with them so I just closed my checking account, and opened up another one. Somehow they got my account and routing number for my new acct., and started debiting it as well. Now not only did I pay all of the loan back, but somehow they are debiting my new checking acct. w/out my permission. First how would they get that info., and how did they even debit it when they didn’t have permission nor a reason from me? I have already reported it to my bank and they are dealing with it, but this really makes me mad b/c they caused me to o/draft, and my rent check bounced.

Loans Guide answers:

I would calmly explain to them that they have seven days to provide documentation of EVERY penny. Tell them if they fail to justify or return the money in that time, your attorney will contact them. You always wanted to OWN a payday lender.

Bad credit cash advances?

Due to medical expenses we have fallen behind on bills, rent, utilities etc. My credit score is not very good because of these recent problems. I have been trying to get a payday loan. Friends have reccomended a few websites. Each one I go to says they will match me with a lender. I fill out the application and get redirected to another website that says they will match me with a lender. Does anyone know of a legitimate website to directly apply for a payday loan? I am only in need of $1000 to cover the rest of this months rent.

Loans Guide answers:

I’ve never seen a payday loan offered for more than $500. I believe medical expenses are either #1 or #2 of the leading causes of bankruptcy. IMO, perhaps you should consider bankruptcy. Those medical expenses would be wiped clean and you could have a fresh start. Plenty of people have rebounded from bankruptcy, too.

In regards to your medical bills, you can cut a deal with the hospital/physician billing people. This is exactly what insurance companies do, so why shouldn’t you be able to? When you have insurance and they tell you it will be $100k for a kidney transplantation, do you really think that’s how much the insurance company paid? No, they told the hospital what is the lowest amount of money you are willing to take for this operation. A lot of Americans don’t know that if they can’t pay their medical bills, call them up and cut a deal. Tell them what you can pay and they can take it or leave it. If they are smart, they will take what you can pay and avoid you going bankrupt where they get nothing out of you.

This is a little bit of a sour issue for me because I just don’t understand why the wealthiest nation on earth can’t provide affordable health care to those who need it. Even small countries like Sweden have basic systems that work… In Sweden there is a cap at $100 for outpatient services, $230 on prescriptions and $10/day on inpatient services…

Carol asks…

Grammar check please?

The interest rates on payday loans are always higher than regular loans because they are risky for the lender and only last a couple of weeks.

Not bad, but this would be better: The interest rates on payday loans are always higher than those on regular loans because payday loans are risky for the lender and last only a couple of weeks

“Provide a tax cut for all families making less than $75,000 a year”

Your Questions About Payday Loans Online Direct Lenders

December 20, 2011 by Loans Guide

Donna asks…

Does anyone know of a true online lender or payday loan who will really deposit funds within 24 hours?

I have tried to apply for a payday loan online to no avail. It seems that all of the payday loan companies accept your information and then send a request for additional applications over and over. No one approves or denies. I am tired of all the applications over and over. Has anyone had success with a lender or payday loan company with fast approval online and deposit within 24 hours, with no credit check or faxing etc.? I do have direct deposit. Please help?

Loans Guide answers:

They are all scams. Go into town and check with one in town.

Any site listed here will be spam, reported, and then get deleted.

Donald asks…

What do you think about these fast cash loans/payday loans..etc??

I have been researching these fast cash loans/payday loans, but I am still not sure if I want to trust them. They make it sound so easy to just get cash overnight! I need to get a loan for at least $1,500-$2,000 and I get paid every 2 weeks! You fill out the online app., which asks you, When is your next payday? Do you have direct deposit and things of that nature. You put your phone number so that a lender can call you and let you know if you will get the loan and discusses other things with you. sometimes you have to fax info that they ask for and with some you don’t!! What I need to know, is “Are these fast cash loans/payday loans/quick cash…etc” on the up and up??? Or is it just a scam??? I don’t wantto be screwed over, if you know what I mean!! Thanx!!

Loans Guide answers:

Lets face it, if you need to use a payday loan company, you need money fast, and dont have many other options. That means you are a risk, and that’s why they charge high interest rates. If you’re not that type, but just need quick cash, then fine, use a payday loan place, pay a few bucks for the convenience, and call it a day. They exist for a purpose. Fast, and easy cash. They take the risks, and they hold up their end of the bargain. If you do the same, you will be happy.

Good luck.

George asks…

Does anybody know where can I get a small payday loan?

I’ve been searching online but all I get is those annoying sites that look for lenders. I need a direct lender that can approve me on the spot. doe anyone have any suggestions?

Loans Guide answers:

Never ever go to a payday lender. How much do you need? Is it really enough to warrant paying more than you’re borrowing? If you absolutely have to have a loan for a set amount of money, go to a trusted financial institution and ask for their rates – right now personal loans are around 9-15% interest, min. Loan at $500-1000 dollars. If you have money in a financial institution, ask them about a share or deposit secured loan. My financial institution is currently offering those loans at 2% above the rate you are earning in interest on that account.

Helen asks…

Do you know of a direct short term loan, or payday advance site that doesn’t have a high processing fee.?

That is fast and can work with a person with ok credit but has had the same a job for over 6 years with direct deposit which I can get online? All I find is ads that will get me to a lender. Which never happens.I don’t need a big loan.

Loans Guide answers:

If you are heck bent on getting a quick payday type of loan, go to a payday place that actually has a store front in your town!!! Payday loans don’t care about your credit. They just want paycheck stubs, utility bill, references, bank statements, and your check book.

The storefront payday loan places don’t charge a processing fee, but they do charge upwards of 400% interest for a loan you will be taking for at max 28 to 30 days. Also, most payday lenders are capped at lending you $425. You would have to pay back $500. You also need to have proof of income to pay that amount back. Just because they can loan up to $425 doesn’t mean everyone qualifies for that amount. If you don’t make the required amount for the $425 it will be less.

Be wary of the online payday lenders. They will debit the heck out of your account without mercy. Many people have had their accounts drained, overdrawn, and have had to close them in order to stop the blood letting!

Maria asks…

Where can I get a payday loan that uses a debit card?

I have a direct deposit account with Net Spend. I want to get a pay day loan online. other than speedy cash, is there any other lenders?

Your Questions About Payday Loans Online Lenders

David asks…

Payday Loans – Actual Lenders?

I live in AR where our AG has managed to get every single cash advance business shut down and moved out. I know people abuse these loans, and sometimes get taken advantage of because they don’t read the fine print. However, I found payday loans to be very useful and from time to time I would utilize them. I have been on the web looking for an online payday lender. The problem is there are literally thousands of marketing companies out there they take your info and present it to multiple lenders, actually the “lenders” I’ve been connected with are just more marketing companies. Does anyone know of an actual online payday lender?
I want to reiterate that I do not believe Payday loans are for everyone. Just like the disclaimers on all the websites say “A payday advance is intended to be used as a short term loan”. I realize that if you let an outstanding balance linger you could be paying a very high price for a small amount of money. Unfortunately, due to the economy, our poor government leadership, dishonest/unethical bank/credit card practices, and greedy business people who can’t live without a million plus yearly salary, I probably will be forever in need of payday loans. As far as any of my State leaders trying to protect me…Yeah Right!!!! Thanks!

Does anyone know of any payday loan lender online who doesnt verify employment?

I dont mind faxing

Loans Guide answers:

I would recommend http://www.advanceloan.net/

You could get up to $1500 in as little as one hour by applying for a quick cash loan. Furthermore, low fees, nothing to fax and bad credit ok are their pros

Good luck :)

Mark asks…

online payday loan lender not matching site?

anyone know of a payday loan LENDER and not a matching website…??i find myself typing the same info in like 5 different webpages and i dont like my information out there like that…so does anyone know of a payday loan lender that has its own website that i can go to an apply for a payday loan?

and, i know PDL are not a good idea, so please dont comment about that.
if it helps any-i live in VA

Loans Guide answers:

None of them do. It’s always another company fronting the monies from the company who took your application.

Just like my credit card. The card has the companies name on it but the monies comes from another bank.

Michael asks…

i am desperatly trying to get an online payday loan and all i get are these places that match u with lenders ?

So these lender matching places end you to more lender matching places. I just want to deal directly with the company that is gonna loan me the money. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Loans Guide answers:

Consider that a payday loan online is like a check without a signature, what proof is there that you are who you say you are and if they don’t have that how are they going to get their loan money back? AS many have suggested, you are going to go in person, they are no different than a bank except I don’t think a bank can charge the interest they charge.

Betty asks…

I’m seeking an online payday lender in Mississippi. Anyone know of one?

Has anyone here applied for an online payday loan in the state of Mississippi? and if so, with whom?
I’m aware of the high rate on these loans, however i think borrowing $100 for 14 days and paying back less than $15 in fees, is acceptable to me. Don’t lecture/judge me on this topic, i know what i’m doing. Thanxs.
Just answer the question.

Your Questions About Payday Loan Scams

October 24, 2011 by Loans Guide

George asks…

How do I get out of these payday loan scams?

They are taking every penny I have and then some;overdrawing my account and leaving me with nothing, leaving me to live in the red. I know I shouldn’t have gotten them in the first place, but what can I do now? I need something to live on, money to pay my rent, but they are taking it all. They take all my money, all my direct deposit, every week and this is just to pay their crazy high interest rates, this doesn’t go to actually paying off the loan. I tried talking to them too (it’s multiple companies I borrowed from) but they mainly just pretend to help you by switching due dates around which doesn’t really help. Need help, need money to live on!

Loans Guide answers:

Close your bank account and file for bankruptcy.
It’s a life saver.

David asks…

Payday Loan Scam Now Local?

So I know the people behind these scams were originally from India or Nigeria, always with thick accents, but are Americans now starting to scam other Americans? I’ve dealt with the overseas guys about two years ago, and now today I get a call from a guy who sounds fully American, trying to do the same thing? I don’t know if I am just being paranoid, but could they be for real? Or just another payday loan scam, telling me to get an attorney, blah blah blah…..so sad if our own are now in on this horrid scam! Thoughts??
Btw: I googled the name of the company he said he was from, couldn’t Find ANYTHING! then googled the “company number” and it came up as a website design company, lol! My GUT says it’s a scam. The other number he called me from I think is a VoIP number because when I call it it rings a few times then nothing, not even a voicemail. So anyway, wouldnt a “reputable” company have AT LEAST a google result? Showing a number, address, whatever….?? Ran my credit, no unknown loans…. Just weird.

Loans Guide answers:

The first thing to do is run a credit report. If you did not take out a loan that doesn’t mean you are not an identity theft victim. A friend kept getting these calls assuming they were scams until she ran a credit report to find out that not only had someone taken out a payday loan in her name but also opened two store credit cards they maxed out

If you have never taken out a loan and there is nothing on the credit report, then you report the caller to the police for extortion which is illegal

If you did take out a loan and did not pay it back, they WILL take you to court and you are going to owe a LOT more than the original loan. You will also have to pay the collection agency’s legal fees which is going to cost you over $5000-10,000 when you lose. If you took out a loan and knew you would not have the money to pay it back on time and have made NO effort to work out a repayment plan with the lender, then you committed fraud and can actually go to prison for this. You can’t go to prison for debt, but you can if you intentionally set out to defraud a lender, which could be proven if the borrower made no effort to repay the outstanding debt. If you have defaulted then you do need a lawyer.

If you did not take out a loan, or you took one out but paid it back in full, then next time they call you have to only say “I do not acknowledge this debt. Per the Fair Debt Collections Act, I am demanding written proof of the debt be mailed to my home within 30 days. In addition, you are no longer permitted to contact me by phone and all future communication can only be in writing. If your company calls again, I shall be pursuing harassment charges.”
Then send a registered letter stating exactly the same thing and send it to the company who called you – keeping a copy of the letter and the delivery confirmation

Maria asks…

Are there any real payday loans out there that aren’t scams?

Hello. I am having a bit of a financial crisis (just like many others) and I was looking at pay day loans or even a regular loan. I dont need a crazy amount of money or anything. Do any of you have experince with a payday loan thats not a scam or small loans that work based on your income and not your credit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Loans Guide answers:

They’re not scams, but every last one of them charges exorbitant interest rates. The best place to seek a personal loan is your bank or credit union. If you’re denied, it will be for good reasons, and they’ll tell you those reasons – even though you may not like what you hear.

Mandy asks…

Can anyone sugges a secure, no scam payday loan site?

I need to get a loan very fast. So I guess the payday on is the best, but I dont want to get scammed. Suggestions please…..

Loans Guide answers:

Go to prosper.com. That’s the best site I know if you don’t want to pay the payday loan fees.

Jenny asks…

Help is this a Payday Loan Scam?

I took out few payday loans a few months ago to help pay for my daughters wedding. I was in the process of paying them back when my uncle died about 6 weeks ago. I had paid off most of the loans but I had to help cover some of the cost of the funeral and the automatic draft set up by the payday company overdrafted my account and was sent back. they tried to put it through a second time with the same results.
Now without any notice from the original company i have someone calling claiming to be a representative of that company telling my boss that they are going to file fraud charges. After calling them back the rep refused to give me the name of the originating company saying that if I talked to them then I would have charges filed against me. They want me to send them almost $900 dollars to clear the account.
I have talked to the loan companies I have borrowed money from as well as my bank and I don’t know who this company could be. This women just wants us to file an authorazation to take the money from my account.
I think this is a scam but I don’t want to get in any legal trouble…. what is your advice?
I am a nurse and having any charges filed against me means that I could lose my license as well as my job.

Loans Guide answers:

Sounds like bluster from a collection agency to me. Maybe its legit, maybe not. Either way, I would insist the woman send written documentation proving that you owe them money and why.

Also ask for her full name and business address. Usually that shuts them up, if not, you have something to take to your state’s Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

For future reference, ALL payday loan companies and collection agencies are skating on thin legal and moral ice.
