Sandy asks…
A man called me saying that I did not pay a payday loan and legal action was going to be taken against me…?
A man called me from an unknown number. I did not answer, because I don’t answer unknown or blocked numbers ever. He called twice then left a message. He said that he was looking for [my name] concerning a sensitive matter that he could not disclose on my voicemail. He then left his number which was (646)525-4064 and said that if I did not call back, he would assume that I was trying to escape the law and this could put me in a “big mess”! It sounded suspicious but I did call back anyway.
When I got on the phone, he told me that I had been named the prime suspect in some case involving social security numbers. Oh, he was foreign so I couldn’t even understand everything he was saying so I would have to ask him to repeat it. Then he said something about Big Payday loan filed a suit against me because I had not paid a loan back that I took from them. Last year, I did take out quite a few payday loans, but my credit union helped me pay all ELEVEN of them off and I haven’t heard from anyone since then. He said they had emailed me but I had not responded back. I am trying to run far far away from payday loans because they almost destroyed me, but I never took out any loans with this company. When I do receive emails, I usually unsubscribe so they don’t mail me anymore or send them to spam. I searched my emails to make sure and saw their name a few times where they sent an email for me to take out a loan, but they were just generic emails to attempt to get me to take out a loan. Nothing else.
Anyways, the man said that he worked with legal consulting company to help rectify this situation before legal action is taking. He said the name of the company, but I can’t remember it for the life of me. I also did a reverse phone number lookup and it was a cell phone number out of New York. But anyway, I ended up cutting him off and telling him I don’t owe any more loans, thank you, and hung up. He then called me back twice. I didn’t answer anymore and he left me two messages. The first message said something to the effect that the cops were coming unless I attempted to pay my debt. The second one just said something about call him back so we can discuss my options.
My question is…is this some kind of scam going around? And can I report this character? Also, if I truly still owed a payday loan, wouldn’t the company do more than try to send me emails? Wouldn’t they try to call me and tell me? I’m not scared or anything. This is just crazy to me so I just wanted to ask questions concerning this issue so maybe someone can help me. I am not calling him back. I’m thinking the payday loan companies are mad, because I paid off my debts and not requesting any more money neither am I responding to them anymore…I don’t really know what’s going on….
Anybody with any insight, please let me know….
Thank you for your answers…No, I did not give out any information guys! I hung up on him and that’s when he called back and I did not answer!

Loans Guide answers:
It’s a scam. They are doing it to try and get your personal information. I hope you did not give them any information.

Michael asks…
is this true? canyou go to jail for a payday loan?
Ok, I applied for a few payday loans awhile back, but never actually got one. I never signed any agreement or whatever. Today I get 12 messages on my answeing maching from some guy in california (i live in vermont). He told me that I now have a lawsuit against me because I took out a payday loan, and never paid it, but i never had a payday loan!! Then he said I am going to be supenad (sp?) into court, a court in california, and if i dont show up i will be arrested. I dont get it? How can i have charges for a loan I never even had, or signed for? How can they make me go to court in california, when i live in vermont. Finally, since I am pretty sure this is some sort of scam or something, who should I call to report these jerks? I live in Vermont thanks
I did ask for proof, and the guy said “you’ll get your copies in court”, and i know i didnt have a payday loan, i did apply for a few, but never was apporved, or went through with it..but they keep calling like every 15 mins, is there anyone i can call to report them? to make this stop?

Loans Guide answers:
Someone may have got your information somehow and applied for a loan in your name. However, seeing that payday loan companies require an active checking account to secure the loan, I think you are safe. Check your account to make sure that no automatic debits have been placed. If none have, then don’t worry about it. It is illegal for any debt collector to threaten someone in any way whatsoever, especially with jail. And no, you cannot go to jail or be arrested for debt. Debtor jails used to be quite common, but they are illegal now. For more information on your rights, go to http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/
The next time they call, get the caller’s name and the agency they represent. Google the phone number. You would be surprised what information this brings up. Contact your state attorney general’s office with your complaint and the above information.

Robert asks…
where can I find a real guaranteed unsecured personal loan for people with bad credit other than citifinancial
I’ve tried alot of these speedy loans and bad credit loans and citibank and am coming up with nothing. I don’t want to have to pay for anymore loanfinders and I’ve even ran into a scam or two. Somebody please give me some advice. And no payday loans either! Please!

Loans Guide answers:
It sounds like your credit is just too poor to qualify for loans. Instead of looking for a loan, you should figure out other ways to come up with cash. Have a garage sale, get a second job.
Make yourself a strict budget and live within your means.

Ruth asks…
A “law office” contacted me about a payday loan (that I forgot about). They said they are with Mark Goldberg?
They said the outstanding loan was sold to a broker because it was an unpaid debt. It is for $300.00. I am willing to pay it but, I am hesitant because they are asking me to deposit the money into the law offices account via Bank of america. The gentleman sent me a letter of agreement via email. I asked him if he could send the letter to me via mail which he said he would. He could not tell me which loan place the loan originated from (I only know one payday loan place it is) which i contacted and they said the account was sold to a broker. Should I pay the debt or does it sound like scam? I have already had this happen once.

Loans Guide answers:
Ask for the documents that assigned the claim to the current holder. He or the claim holder should have a copy on file.
This is a reasonable request to make sure that you are not being scammed. The assignment documents should clearly reflect the chain of custody.

Donald asks…
Bad Credit Loans for Debt Consolidation?
Long Story Short, Back in 2008, I ended up paying off all of my credit debt and then ended up moving to another state to be with my girlfriend (moving to another state without another job lined up is a bad idea). After Maxing out all of my credit cards, being legally homeless for months on end and living out of a motel I finally made my way back home where my credit was destroyed. I am now trying to pick of the pieces but it has been difficult.
Tons of people always talk about how people with horrible credit can still get personal or debt consolidation loans. When when you look online all you see is spam or garbage. I’d like to get a personal loan so I can consolidate my bills and move out of my parent’s house. Does anyone know of any legit, useful places that provide a bad credit loan (not payday advances)?
All of my credit cards ended up going to collections. I am currently now making payments to those collectors. They all refused to let me make payments on my own; telling me that my word on paying wasn’t good enough and that I had to either allow automatic deductions or they’d simply garnish my wages. While I was able to get several down to 60% of the original debt, the only way they’d work with me was by setting up automatic payments. I am annoyed that I am trying to at least fix my credit and pay my debt and these people are being so frustrating.

Loans Guide answers:
All of them are bad… Really. They will do the same things you can do on your own and not have to pay for it. You do not get a loan to pay a loan.
I would call the creditors and try to work out a payment plan. They will work with you if you are diligent. Make sure that every agreement comes on paper from them before you make a payment. Do not allow automatic withdrawals from any account-period, meaning do not give anyone your bank account info or any type of info that will allow for a debit.
More then likely if you do not have assets and the banks will not give you a loan it’s not worth doing. The interest rates on a loan from a shark will be out of this world and your debt will cost you lts more in the long run.
Take your extra cash and start paying down the old debt. Start with the smallest debts first and work your way through them this way.

Jenny asks…
Can anyone reommend a company offering an umbrella loan-credit card, payday,& mortage loans?
The last three months she got mired in debt through pay day loans and literally stopped paying because she was now losing money-she has a good income, but not enough to cover the losses-needs monthly totals reduced from $6,000.00/month to $2,000.00/month-BANKRUPTCY final option-does not want to use it yet-she can get smaller consolidation that doesn’t cover anything-making things worse with higher debt.
PROFESSIONAL VERIFIABLE SOURCES ONLY-IN HOUSTON, TX. Sorry Erivan, my lawyer could verify nothing of what you said.

Lizzie asks…
I have multiple title loans in phoenix az, can i do a debt consolidation with it?
I took out a few tile loans in phoenix az at former payday loan centers, but i dont own the vehicle so the loan centers are basically the 2nd lien holders, but not officially documented as one on the tiltle, so would i still be able to do a debt consolidation or can they legally go after my vehicle?
The loan centers are aware that i do not own my car, in arizona payday loans are illegal now, so they allow you to take a title loan even if u dont own the vehicle. guess its some kind of loop hole.

Loans Guide answers:
Legally they can file CRIMINAL charges for fraud. You CAN’T get a title loan without a CLEAN title. ALL your assets are at risk.

Ken asks…
i need to get a bad credit loan?
i am right now in a debt consolidation management program, but i need a small loan to do renovations in my apartment. i have tried getting a loan from the bank and citifinancial.com and have been denied by both because of the debt consolidation management program.
where can i go to get a small loan (and not a payday loan) with my situation
I didn’t purposely put myself in debt. My mother had major heart surgery, and I was paying all her bills and my bills, and resorted to using credit cards. my credit card debt isn’t huge, but it isn’t small either (it was 10k a year and a half ago). with the monthly payments i cut the bill in half. the only luxury i have in my cell, and its for emergency purposes only. besides her survivor’s benefits (which i don’t touch) i have my income. the apt is in need in repair and my super gives me broken promises, and the landlord doesn’t help either. I don’t even want a large loan; i’m talking about $1000, which i know i could pay back. between helping my mother with her bills, and my bills, my paycheck is nearly gone

Loans Guide answers:
Absolutely nowhere. No legitimate lender will go near you as you are in trouble with your current debts – as you have discovered, debt consolidation management programs are a “stay away” sign to lenders.
And to be honest, you should not be spending any money on renovations while you are in such debt trouble.

James asks…
If you could be a kid again, would you look up to adults your age?
When I was a kid, I looked up to adults. In my own life I did ok and didn’t think it was that hard to be successful.
Now that I’m in my 30′s, I am disgusted by most of my so called “peers” around me. I wouldn’t respect any adults today if I were a kid.
I turn on the TV and see most adults act worse than my fifth grade class.
There are so many businesses out there waiting to make money off adults for their own incompetence, everything from rehab to payday loans to debt consolidation.
And the biggest joke is that people think it’s okay to live at home after they get out of school, forever.
How would you teach a kid to respect their elders when their elders need grown up supervision?
Does anyone else here feel this way?
Yeah I agree I was taught to always respect elders, too.. and I will probably be saying Sir and Ma’am until I die, which is good.. however, those are titles I find hard to attribute to anyone my own age, especially when I just sit back and watch people in public.

Loans Guide answers:
When I read the first part of your Q I was ready to answer after I read the rest I had to pause a minute, and your right I don’t think I could look up to our generation(a little older than you) there is no responsibility for ones actions anymore people do what ever they want without regard for anyone else, everybody is out for themselves, all the time.manners are a thing of the past .I do my best with my wife‘s help to raise our boys with respect and manners but it is hard to fight what they see and hear everyday when they are not with us.having said all that there are alot of decent successful people out there so don’t give up yet don’t go quietly into that goodnight.

Sharon asks…
Has anyone tried Cash tree lenders? The pay day loan company?
How are they? I just need 300 dollars this month and I will pay it off in full next month when I get my check. I’ve heard so many horror stories about payday loans and I want it to be as cut and dry as possible. The most I would be involved with the company is a month to receive funds and pay it immediately back.

Sandy asks…
Payday loan ..is it possible to get more then $1000?
most of these payday loans limited to $1000 and some direct lenders can give up to $1500.is there any payday loan company that provide more?

Loans Guide answers:
Not that i’m aware of. Best bet is to call around and ask. I would think a lot has to do with your weekly pay.

David asks…
I want a loan and not a payday loan and I have bad credit.?
I don’t want a site that finds me a lender I want to work with an acutal lender.

Loans Guide answers:
What type of loan are you looking for? Frankly, looking for a lender online is not a good idea. There so many scammers out there preying on folks with bad credit. You really are better off going to a local bank or credit union. You may not qualify for a loan but at least you won’t be paying up front money to a scammer or exposing your personal info to ID theft.

Charles asks…
Does anyone know a lender who does personal unsecured loans for bad credit that is not a payday loan.?

Loans Guide answers:
Bad credit loans can be difficult to get – but not impossible.
Try these three companies.

Thomas asks…
How do I find a loan shark?
I am desperate for a personal loan for some significant legal fees for my husband’s custody case. We both have extremely poor credit, and the timeline is too small to have time to save up. My husband would just like to get a loan through a “shark,” but not a payday loan – like a personal lender. Any LEGIT suggestions welcome. Our credit scores are too low for prosper.com.

Loans Guide answers:
Are you crazy? Do you REALLY want to do it?
The best way to do this is to ask your attorney to let you pay in installments. If this particular attorney wouldn’t do it for you, find another one. Many attorneys will ask for some amount upfront and then you pay the rest in installments. Usually they do it without charging you any interest, but if you offer to pay reasonable interest, they’ll go for it.
Of course, we are talking about normal, regular lawyers, not some very high priced “legal eagles.”

For example, in Alabama, the maximum extension is one. If they give you two or more, can I make a case?

I have bad credit and need a Loan for 5000 but I don’t want payday loans?
I’ve been trying to find a legit website of any lender that can provide a non-secure loan for $5,000, does anyone know of such lenders that can Truly help out and not rip you off like the payday loan sharks?

Loans Guide answers:
There is a huge chance for the people to get into the unfortunate track of poor credit. You are just not the single. So, you can always have the benefit of bad credit loans which have been made and designed especially for people like you, of course to help you out. These finances are advanced irrespective of the credit status of the borrowers and they are available for almost any personal need. You may have multiple unpaid debts that are usually main causes behind people’s affected financial status. You can erase these by a viable debt consolidation program through these finances. There are several other needs too and you can take cash for any of the needs like a business need, home improvement, study expense, car buying or a holiday trip etc.
You can have the finance in both the regular packs, secured and unsecured. In secured options you can have the rates cheap enough because of the collateral assurance attached that conforms a sure return of the money. However, you can also take the money from the unsecured options where the cash is advanced without any collateral.
Again, you can spruce up your credit turf too, by regular repayments of these loans since every regularly paid installment is counted as positive response here. Bad credit loans are advanced online and here you can apply for the loans without paying a single buck while applying through a small and easy application form is the easiest task here. Also a large flock of lenders available there make the choice rather easier. Bad credit loans with their facility packages are all set out to erase the credit worry from your life and this makes your financial future a better one.
Best of Luck…

Nancy asks…
are there any internet lenders for bad credit payday loans, that won’t keep re-routing you , that really lend?
lenders that don’t keep re-routing you ,and still not advance you the loan you request?

Loans Guide answers:
Probably not. You’d be waay better off to ask a relative.
Good luck.

Ruth asks…
is there a lender that gives out loans specifically for people with bad credit that is not a payday loan?
I need to know of a lender that helps people who are over their head in debt and need one loan to put them altogether under one large lump sum about $4000.00.

Loans Guide answers:
What you are looking for is a consolidation loan. I don’t recommend it. Those loans usually have very high interest rates. If your credit is lacking you won’t get a loan from a bank or a credit union. You could go to an independent loan company, but your interest rate will be god-awful. You should attempt to clean up your credit and current debt as best as you can on your own. Fore go the loan for a minute. Find a reputable credit counseling service. Before you choose one, contact your local Better Business Bureau. Good Luck.

Susan asks…
does anyone know of any payday lenders that will give you a loan of 1500 first time users please help?
need 1500 in two weeks

Loans Guide answers:
I think Cash Advance Network gives up to $1500. This may be hard to find due to the amount needed.

Is a licence required? Any requirement to start this company? Help given will be grateful!!
Ive got about £300,000 to spend. I would like to sell via the internet. Anyone have any knowledge on this industry??? Is it a profitable industry and worth getting into???
Ive received about £1.2 million inheritance if your wondering by looking at my other answers why i said I ‘only’ got 300 grand to spend is because i dont want to spend more than £300,000 on this one venture.

Loans Guide answers:
You’ll need to obtain a credit licence first, plus it would be wise to get an old pro on board from a pawn shop or something.
The pay isn’t great in these sort of outlets, so you could get great experience for relatively little cash, and they could point out all the downfalls, dodgy cheques, bad gold, Western Union etc etc etc.
I’d offer but you couldn’t afford me ;o)
Good luck
