Loans Guide answers:
You need to try to get an extra part-time job and pay this off quickly. Make a budget and stick to it. Have you heard of Dave Ramsey (www.daveramsey.com) He has free downloadable budget forms. He also have a wonderful radio program.
Stay away from these places!!!- They will kill your bank account.

Linda asks…
what type of background check does PLS (payday loan store) conduct for employment?
I was offered a job however, i have to pass the background check. i was wondering if it is a criminal background or a credit check because i do owe money on parking tickets and student loans.
I would really like to hear from people who either work at pls or used to work there….thanks

Loans Guide answers:
I used to work for them and my credit score was pretty bad, plus i had a misdemenor on my record…they look more for felonies more related to theft, money laundering, etc. Since you WILL be working with money…hope that helps.

Sandra asks…
Being sued by Payday Loan store?
I have a consumer loan out w/one of those payday loan stores. My payment was $92.00 a month. I also had a regular payday loan which I have paid off recently. At one point I had lost my job and then found another but my pay dipped quite a bit so I had a hard time keeping up w/the payments. I did try negotiating w/them and technically speaking I”m behind 1 month ( I paid $50.00 in June, nothing in July and August is not due yet) Now, they have given me a summons to come to court in September (that was fast) mind you I did pay up until June and I’m not saying I don’t owe the rest of the debt.
Has anyone else out there been sued by Payday loan stores? Here in Wisconsin there has been legislator to try and get a handle on these places..any suggestion where to start? I will be calling my Lawyer and seeing what he has to say about it as well. Once again let me repeat I do owe the money I’m not trying to get out of owing anything…except whatever they have tacked on.

Loans Guide answers:
Contact the payday loan store. They can tell you what they need to keep all of it out of court. Just because you got a summons doesn’t mean that it’s the end of your business with them.
ALSO, if a company is governed by the CFSA, they are required to work with you.

Michael asks…
Wh are there so many pawn shops & Payday Loan stores in black neighborhoods?
I drive down this one main street in the large city I live in where the neighborhood changes from white/mixed to all black & I notice that in the black areas, there are large quantities of pawn shops & Payday Loan stores. Why is this?

Loans Guide answers:
They’re more likely than average to be poor. Pawn shops and loan stores have a higher demand in poor areas.
